MESSI STILL THE TOP MAN

Sandro Rosell, the president of Barcelona has made it clear that Lionel Messi will still be the star man at the club even though they have acquired the services of Brazilian wonder kid Neymar from Santos for a whopping € 50 million over the summer transfer window.

The recent acquisition of the Brazilian international led to club legend Johan Cruyff stating that the club should now look to selling the Argentina international skipper as both of them would not be able to function together in the same side and there will be too many ego problems but the Catalan lawyer has shrugged off that suggestion. According to Rosell, there are not two roosters in the same hen house, there is just one and he is Lionel Messi. Speaking to 8TV, a Catalan television station, Rosell mentioned that the club has signed Neymar, who is not just a great player but a great person as well.

He added that there is absolutely no other footballer on the planet that is better than Messi but they have brought in Neymar to assist him and help the club move forward as well. The arrival of Neymar has already seen Spanish international striker David Villa making the move away from the club to Atletico Madrid with the club pocketing € 5.1 million and Rosell believes this move was in the interest of both the parties involved.

Recently, the former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola suggested that Lionel Messi and Villa never got along at all since the highest goal scorer for the Spanish national side made the move to Barcelona in 2010 and that has prompted many to think that a friction between Messi and Neymar is inevitable and the result will mean that either one of the two will be sold by the club in the near future.
