UNITED MAULINGTRANSFER OF FORWARD

Manchester United have been linked with a lot of players this offseason and one of them is Lille forward Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian international has been on the top list of a number of clubs after impressing for the French club this season.

His manager Christophe Galtier has finally confirmed that the 23-year-old will leave the club this summer. Speaking to Canal + he revealed that the Ivorian international has informed the club of his decision to leave this summer.

This news comes as a huge boost for Manchester United as they look to add the forward to their squad ahead of next season.

However United face a battle for his signature as Bayern Munich and PSG are reportedly interested in the player.

PSG are said to be mauling about a transfer as they look to offload Neymar back to Barcelona. The Brazillian is reportedly in nehgotiations with Barcelona as he wants to reunite with Lionel Messi.

Neymar was the heir apparent to Messi at Barcelona but left for a world record fee two seasons ago.

Pepe would be a good replacement for the Brazilian international. However United have the edge as they can pay the asking fee of £70 million without running into FFP problems.

Pepe is known for his pace, dribbling ability as well as his goalscoring nous. He would be a good signing for the club as he has better qualities than current options Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.

Pepe is currently participating at the 2019 Afcon tournament held in Egypt. The player’s stock is definitely high after his sensational season for Lille. He scored a remarkable 22 goals and provided 11 assist this season which led Lille to second place in Ligue 1.
